"Mama said there'll be days like this, there'll be days like this, my mama said"
It wasn’t “Mama,” but I knew there would be days along my Alzheimer’s journey that put meaning behind the phrase, Alzheimer’s Sucks.
I woke this morning feeling disoriented and confused. As I looked around my bedroom, nothing seemed familiar. Having experienced this confused state previously, I knew in a minute or two that clarity would overcome the confusion.
My emotional support cat, Big Bit moved next to me and nudged me with her head. Her gentle touch is comforting.
After drinking water, I went back to sleep. A second sleep always feels rejuvenating. I feel better, yet today will be “days like this.”
