My Alzheimer's Journey
Part 18 - Delayed Side Effects
One very important reason I am chronicling my Alzheimer’s journey is to inform other AD patients and caregivers about my experience. Hopefully, this will make the journey a bit smoother for those who follow me.
A valuable lesson was learned last night - lecanemab side effects may be delayed.
At about 10 pm, I began feeling achy. The pain felt like sore muscles. Within five minutes, I started experiencing chills. The chills quickly escalated, and the pain was severe. I was shivering and trembling.
Linda opened our cedar chest and got every blanket we have. When those blankets did not warm me, she got two furniture pads. I think there were six blankets and one large cat on me, and the chills did not subside.
At the same time, I was experiencing muscle aches and soreness.
About 11:30, the chills stopped. Yet, the muscle aches worsened. The pain was moving around my body.
I took Tylenol and that seemed to reduce the pain.
Does anyone want to contribute to the purchase of a blanket warming machine? They are only $4329. I want to be prepared if this happens after the next infusion.
