My Alzheimer's Journey
Part 156 - Everything Except My Brain Is Healthy
Over the past ten days or so, I have been experiencing frequent chills and clammy skin. As you know, chills are a known side effect of Lecanemab. It is unusual for the chills to last more than a few days, though.
Yesterday, Duke Neurology decided that I should skip my scheduled infusion today and instead go to a Duke Urgent Care Clinic for a checkup.
Linda and I went early this morning. Over the span of maybe two hours, I was poked, prodded, X-rayed, EKG’d, and drained of a fair amount of blood. The results were good. No problems below my brain.
The issue is that my immune system doesn’t like Lecanemab. Thank goodness for my heated Linus blanket and Big Bit. They keep me warm when the chills roll in.
The brilliant medical team at Duke are discussing the best path forward.
