My Alzheimer's Journey
Week In Review - May 29, 2026
Hello, Friends!
This has been a busy and somewhat frustrating week for Linda and me.
Linda continues to have physical therapy in our apartment. It seems to be going according to plan. She is using a wheelchair less and a walker more.
My infusion went well Tuesday. I had no side effects Tuesday afternoon. About 1:00 am Wednesday, I became nauseated. About 5:00 am, I had severe pain (muscle aches) in my forearms. This pain continued throughout the day. I had to reschedule a doctor appointment.
I felt much better Thursday. Linda and I acted like cats all day. Long naps with breaks for a snack.
Early this morning, I woke with muscle aches in my right leg. I find it interesting that my Lecanemab infusion side effects are generally delayed several days after the infusion.
At 10:00 am today, I had a biopsy at Duke Neurology as the first step in the Syn-One Test. This is a comprehensive lab test that detects abnormal proteins in cutaneous nerves to diagnose neurodegenerative disorders. There are indications that I may have some form of Parkinsonism. The Syn-One test will provide the answers.
After the biopsy, I went upstairs in the neurology building to the home of the i-MIND Research Group. I am joining the i-MIND study as a participant. In simple terms, this study is trying to learn if retinal images can diagnose neurological diseases. I wrote about the i-MIND study in Greg’s Alzheimer’s Research Report yesterday.
To wrap up the week, we learned that the scheduled closing on our South Carolina home is delayed by a few days. Rather than June 2, the closing will probably be June 4. I am told the delay is a minor issue.
Subscribers to the blog continue to grow. Welcome to each and every new subscriber. Please leave a comment or ask a question. I want the blog to be a community where we share and learn together.
If you have not visited Greg’s AZ Store lately, there are many great summer shirts in stock. We have sizes and styles for all ages.
Have a wonderful weekend.
