This is a lovely post, Chris, for many reasons. I just found your substack and am so grateful that you’re writing through your Alzheimer’s journey. My mother died four years ago from Alzheimer’s. She was also diagnosed with early Alzheimer’s. I’m now writing a memoir about my experience with her. It’s about Alzheimer’s as a spiritual teacher and the idea that Alzheimer’s is less an illness of erasure than exposure. It shows us that we are more than what we can remember. I look forward to all of your upcoming posts. I’m new to Substack and writing at “the school of grief.”
