Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I believe he's closing the Kennedy Ctr for 2 years to stop the artists from backing out of performances and humiliating him. Kind of a "you can't fire me, I quit!" situation.
All the same, yes, we desperately need all hands on deck for accessible, affordable Alzheimer's research. I don't expect it will come while this guy is in office, unfortunately. Time is of the essence, as we all know! I just heard of a third 2nd degree relative who is showing signs of cognitive decline.
I'm in the Lilly donanemab clinical trial. Have been in it since early 2023. I don't believe I got the drug during the infusion period, but I will have the option of taking it when the study is unblinded, within a year. I'm still not sure whether I will take them up on it, and am following your story closely.
Hi Lisa. I totally agree with you. I read that he is threatening to withhold funding for a tunnel from New Jersey to New York if Penn Station and Dulles Airport are not renamed "Trump". Such a narcissist!

I agree, Greg. I’m always flabbergasted by how funds for frivolous things are readily available, while funding for medical advances and cures requires jumping through hoops and bounds.
Sadly as I am in the UK, I don't think I have the same avenues to request the funds be better spent.
But I can still encourage you to be the person who starts the Cat Board in your hospital! There must be tons of mogs deserving of their spot on the wall...
